| Biography: Ruby Collins has slowly built a devout grassroot following. Her songs are about relationships, love, and marriage. Born in Brooklyn, New York Ruby began singing at the age of three but did not begin singing publicaly until the age of fourteen as the lead singer in her church choir. As Ruby over came her shyness she stepped into the world of talent shows performing at local community and school talent shows throughout the tri-state area. It wasn't until her appearance on televisions "Show Time at The Apollo" that Ruby knew that her musical journey had begun. In 1993 Ruby's mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Ruby joined the New York City Police Department as a means to help support the family financially. Distraught by her mothers illness Ruby put her dreams on hold but soon realized that the police department could use for a voice like hers. After six month of rigorous training Ruby received the opportunity to share a more sweeter and softer side of her, that her colleagues had never seen before. Ruby sang the national anthem for her police academy graduation singing at Madison Square Garden before five thousand attendees receiving her first write up in the local Daily News. It wasn't before long that Ruby became a household name within the New York City Police Department. She sang everywhere from community breakfasts in the back of the station house, to the New York Knicks game and eventually to the Nations Capitol. In 1995 when the Nations Capitol, in Washington DC came calling looking for a singer to sing the national anthem for the Annual National Police Officer Memorial. After a brief audition in which Ruby sang to the organizer of the program over the phone she was pegged for the job. President Bill Clinton, Mariah Carey, and Tommy Matolla who attended the ceremony that day were not the only ones to experience the sweet voice of Ruby Collins but the event was televised nationally via C-Span and the entire country experienced the amazing voice of the police officer behind the uniform. Ruby's rendition of "Wind Beneath My Wings" recorded by Bette Middler and her amazing rendition of the National Anthem. That day there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Ruby Collins soon began making appearances on talk shows including the, "Rosie O'Donnel Show," "Oxygen Media", "Positively Black", "Good Day New York" and opened for the Legendary group Blue Magic. In 2000 Ruby released her first gospel album on her independent label Senga Music with Producer Tom McConnell selling over 5000 copies to major chains like Virgin Mega, Tower Records, HMV and local mom's and pop record shops. Billboard Magazine reviewed the album stating "Ruby's forte is smooth jazzy pop/gospel amalgam dazzingly reminiscent of Early Robert Flack." After 911 Ruby decided to follow her passion and pursue her music career. Ruby went back to school earning a Masters in Education becoming a school teacher. She also taught herself to play piano and guitar, and released "Merry Christmas" a classic acoustic piano Christmas album in 2005. Inspired by her experiences of being a mother, wife, police officer, and changing her career to follow her passion Ruby developed her songwriting skills and returned to the studio to release her third album "In My Dreams," an eclectic blend of soul, pop, and jazz. Nobody said the music business is easy but Ruby said she is not about to give up. Ruby has just completed her fourth album and is due to be released in 2008 and it's better than ever. |

| Description: Bobby Womack meets David Bowie | ||||
| Biography: California-born vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Amelia Ray currently resides in Madrid where she performs original soul rock music solo, and with her band, The Conjugal Experiment. A young music scene veteran, Amelia has been performing in the United States and in Europe for almost 20 years. She appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, was a featured artist for Radio Campus Lille in France, and even performed in Iceland. She has shared the stage with Chuck Rainey, Elliott Randall, Rob Bargad, Maia Sharp and Kenny Aronoff, to name a few. Since her arrival in Spain, she has graced such renowned stages as Sala Clamores and The Bourbon Cafe in Madrid, and the Casa de las Conchas in Salamanca. Amelia's music is at once rock, jazz, country, gospel, pop, and blues. "Once you realise how closely connected different styles of music are, you can start to play with the boundaries of those styles, and create something new and invigorating. But at the root, I'm always trying to make good, old finger-snapping music that makes you perk up your ears, and move your feet." With influences ranging from Nina Simone, Steely Dan, and Inti-Illimani to Led Zeppelin, Jellyfish and King Crimson, Amelia admits "it's hard to sit still". It isn't just about fun, though. Amelia's groove-heavy tunes often carry important social and political themes. In 2006, her anti-Bush gospel rock tune, "Whos'yerdaddy?" spent several weeks on the American Idol Underground Top 40 charts. Amelia's songs have been featured in films such as the German documentary Schwarzenberg (2007), and the powerful film about forgiveness, "A Killing in Choctaw" (2004). Her version of "Long Time Ago" was recently included on the Sensory Lullabies: A Tribute to Jellyfish compilation. 2008 brings the release of Amelia's seventh album, titled, "ON", a European tour, and a return to Iceland for a Winter artist's residency. |

SOUL ROCK ARTIST AMELIA RAY RELEASES ON, HER SIXTH INDEPENDENT STUDIO ALBUM July 3, 2008 (MADRID) -- California-born, Madrid-based soul rock vocalist/composer Amelia Ray unveils her first Spanish studio project. The album, entitled, "ON", will feature brand new rock, reggae, pop and gospel compositions, as well as a surprising cover track from Otis Redding. Recorded and produced exclusively by Ray at her "Out of 3 Sigma Studios" in Madrid, the album is a veritable aural candy store. Each song stands alone as a potential single or as an ideal track for use in TV, film or commercial. Included are the gospel tune, "Eldoret", based on the violence in Kenya ("This has the trappings of another genocide"), the classic rock cooker, "The Arsonist" (an imagined conversation between a photojournalist and his model, a man who is burning himself alive - inspired by a newspaper photo) and the doo-wop of "Blackberry", a song about the dangers of using your PDA (personal digital assistant) of the same name to cheat on your lover. Also included is a reinterpretation of the Otis Redding ballad, "Cigarettes and Coffee" as an upbeat duet. "I wanted to rock the song out a bit, and make it much more playful - like Tammy and Marvin singing about onions," she says. Ray released her first self-produced album in 1993. Her 2005 release, "Music for Autistic People" featured Steely Dan recording and touring guitarist Jon Herington. And her 2001 release, "Mr. Gibson Scores Again" (dedicated to Negro Leagues baseball player Josh Gibson) continues to make waves - in February 2008, the hit single "Whos'yerdaddy" made #1 on Neil Young's "Living With War" charts, and is frequently one of the Top Ten songs on Artist Underground.com's Jazz Charts. "ON" is Ray's sixth independent studio release. Ray played all guitars, some bass, sang lead and backing vocals, and recorded and mixed the project. Invited musicians include Spain-based musicians Mari-José Estivariz (bass), Alejandro Nieva (saxaphone), Jorge Perez (drums), David Starlight (vocals), and French rapper Yoshi. Amelia's compositions have been featured in films such as the German documentary Schwarzenberg (2007), and the powerful film about forgiveness, "A Killing in Choctaw" (2004). Her version of "Long Time Ago" was recently included on the Sensory Lullabies: A Tribute to Jellyfish compilation. ON will be released on July 18, 2008 simultaneously on iTunes and at CDBaby.com. ON Tracklist: 1) The Arsonist For further information, contact Tabitha Hank at +44.020.8133.3532. ### |

| Description: A visceral formulation of potent lyrics, seductive vocal tones and piano-pounding passion. | |||||||||||||||
| Biography: This Artist's review is published by, established Author and Cheif Editor of GEMM.com -Robert Benson From his humble Motown upbringing, Michael Paul's musical journey has encompassed all the traditional and untraditional stops, from playing with garage bands in the Northeast, to ultimately heading to California to front the band "Deep Under Green," an angst-filled group that blasted the West coast with full-fledged grunge-rock. When that medium burned out--fueled by debt and mismanagement, the band members went their separate ways. But, Paul invested in his own recording equipment and has "worn all the hats" for the next two releases as a solo artist-releasing "Repetitive Motion Syndrome" and the EP, "Reach," as Paul found a new vehicle for his emotion-the piano. The EP "Reach" proves that this master balladeer belongs with select company. "Reach" is a powerful release, punctuated by Paul's expressive voice and world view lyrics played exclusively with piano and voice. The title song is an unparalleled experience of music and sound with brooding lyrics and pounding piano parts. The soulful singing of "Try As I Might" blends perfectly with the astute lyrics and is played with melodic precision. The self-prophecy of "Hollywood Postcard" reveals Paul's inner thoughts and is intensely sung with a bruised, yet tender voice and message. In July of 2007, Paul released the single "Natural Disaster," which saw it's world premier exclusively on the Internet Radio station www.ilike2rock.net which ran an inventive promotion with clues and tips for the listeners; all ending on 07/07/07 when they played the song once an hour to accommodate different time zones (the song played at 7 p.m.). Michael Paul's career has come to a perfect full circle and this singer-songwriter is playing all the right notes. Let's hope that his engaging lyrics and intellectually stimulating music never breaks away from the circle as he continues his musical journey. | |||||||||||||||
